Have you clearly defined your brand values?
Brand & business values should be one and the same thing – to have different values for your brand implies that the brand is somehow a separate entity to your business.
In reality, brand values are a set of guiding principles that shape every aspect of your business and the image and identity you want your business to project to the outside world. 📽️ 🌎
As part of my own brand and business development, I’ve been reflecting on my own values:
💎 Integrity – I will always do the right thing for clients, even if it means recommending someone else who is more qualified than me in a particular area. I’m self-aware enough to be clear about what I know, and what I don’t. When prospects enquire with me, I’m always up front if I don’t feel I can help them. And anyway, I have such a lot of fantastic people in my network I can refer them to!
💜 Passion – I love what I do. And my chosen specialist subject is how to transform brands through the power of archetypes. I would describe myself as evangelical about this subject to the point of wanting to spread the message as far and wide as possible, whether you work with me or not. I feel like I have found the holy grail of brand planning and I want to share it with the world!
🎓 Knowledge – As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing I’m committed to my on-going professional development. Each year I submit a minimum of 4 CPD activities to the CIM for review.
💯 Quality – I deliver work to the highest possible standards, on time. That’s it.
🎨 Creativity – Often, the work I do requires some creative problem solving. I always build in thinking time when working on brand strategy projects. This is critical because it means I can deliver solutions not just observations. I really like to get under the skin of a brand to work out how to move it forward.
